If your iHealth scale shows a low number when you first step on it and then updates to a higher weight, this is normal.
The scale briefly detects partial weight before stabilizing and displaying your full body weight.
Why this happens
- Gradual weight detection
When you step on the scale, it begins measuring as soon as pressure is applied. This can cause a lower number to appear briefly before your full weight is detected. - Stabilization process
The scale needs a moment to stabilize and calculate an accurate reading. - Uneven weight distribution
If your weight is not evenly distributed right away, the scale may display a lower value first.
How to get the most accurate reading
- Step onto the scale with both feet at the same time
- Stand still and wait for the final number to lock in
- Keep your weight evenly distributed
- Make sure the scale is on a hard, flat surface
Additional tips
- If the reading seems off, step off and try stepping on the scale again
- Do not hold any objects (such as phones, weights, or bags) while measuring
- Remain still until the measurement is complete
- Always wait for the final reading before stepping off
When to contact support
If the scale continues to show incorrect final readings (not just briefly at the start), please contact iHealth Customer Support at support@ihealthlabs.com for assistance.
