Make sure the surface of the scale is clean. If necessary, use a soft, damp cloth to clean it. Do not use abrasive or solvent-based cleaners or immerse in water.
Fluctuations in the level of hydration that may be caused by alcohol, food, fatigue, exercise, medications or pre-menstruation may cause variations in results.
Other causes that may lead to measurement errors:
- A full bladder
- Severe callosities on the heels or soles of the feet
- A dirty soles can cause conductivity problems
- Wearing nylon (stockings, tights)
