If your iHealth iHealth Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer (PT3) is not working properly, here are some steps you can take to try and fix the issue.
Firmware reset
Take the Batteries out of the device and wait 60 seconds, then reinsert the batteries.
This performs a firmware reset on the device.
Cleaning the lens
Please make sure that the lens of the device is clean and free from debris.
Use a cotton swab soaked in 70% alcohol. Gently rub the lens and the metal conduit to remove all traces and dirt.
After cleaning the lens, please wait 30 minutes before measuring again.

Invalid measurement screen
This screen means invalid measurement.
Possible reasons for measurement errors include:
- Measurement distance is greater than 3cm (1.18in).
Caution, do not keep the button pressed while approaching the thermometer from a distance of less than 3 cm. Place the thermometer at a distance from the forehead of less than 3 cm THEN press the button. - Environment temperature does not meet measurement requirements or there is an excessively high-temperature difference.
- Temperature: 15°C-40°C (59°F-104°F)
- Humidity: 15-85%RH
- Atmospheric pressure: 70~106kPa
- Target temperature exceeds the measurement range (32°C to 42.9°C).
If your thermometer still does not show a measurement after following these instructions for measuring position and temperature differentials you may have received a defective thermometer.

Inaccurate readings
If the results seem incorrect, please compare the measurement using a different thermometer, but keep in mind that:
An ear (tympanic) temperature is 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) higher than an oral temperature.
An armpit (axillary) temperature is usually 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) lower than an oral temperature.
A forehead (temporal) scanner is usually 0.5°F (0.3°C) to 1°F (0.6°C) lower than an oral temperature.
Please make sure that the thermometer is clean, the measurement position is correct and that there is no hair, sweat, or creams blocking the measurement site.

Does not turn on
If your thermometer does not turn on, please try a new set of batteries and make sure that the batteries are oriented correctly.
The iHealth iHealth Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer (PT3) uses 2 x AAA batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for this device.
If your thermometer still does not turn on, please contact support@ihealthlabs.com for a replacement if within the 365 day warranty period.
All symbols flashing
When the thermometer's screen flashes with all of the symbols, the thermometer is defective.
